Chester Charter Scholars Academy Students Learn & Explore at Bimbo Bakeries USA

Recently, a group of students from Chester, PA’s Chester Charter Scholars Academy visited Bimbo Bakeries USA’s Conshohocken Sales Center for a ‘Learn and Explore Workshop’. The workshops are a core piece of programming for the Philadelphia Union Foundation’s iAM Project, which connects students from Chester Charter Scholars Academy with some of the region’s largest companies, as well as a network of inspirational speakers, mentors, universities and internships — all designed to help the students maximize their personal, academic and professional potential.

"The iAM Project is built around inspiration, aspiration and mentorship,” said Paul Howard, Executive Director, Philadelphia Union Foundation. “When our students can hear from people at companies like Bimbo Bakeries USA about the different types of jobs that are available, it broadens how they think about their futures and the opportunities that are available for them. Learning about that now, while they are still in high school, can create clearer paths to success.”

During their visit, the students toured the Sales Center, learned how their favorite BBU products get from our bakeries to store shelves and heard from BBU leaders who gave an overview of the company and spoke about different career opportunities available to the students in the future.

“Our associates are proud of our company and love connecting with our local community. We were excited to give an overview of the baking industry and speak about their various roles and career paths that could be available to the students in the future,” said Dana Connors, Vice President, Corporate Affairs. “Bimbo Bakeries USA is proud to partner with the Philadelphia Union Foundation’s iAM Project and look forward to serving as mentors to these bright and talented students.”
