Arnold® and Oroweat® Bring the Best to the West with the Launch of Sandwich Thins™

Bakers Share the Skinny on Endless Eating Possibilities

HORSHAM, PA (July 2009) - Today, the bakers of Oroweat and Arnold Breads announce the expansion of Sandwich Thins, the first unique sandwich-sized sliced flatbread rolls introduced, to the Western United States. Currently available in the East under the Arnold brand name, and now available in the West under the Oroweat brand name, Sandwich Thins are thinner than a roll, healthier than most sliced bread, more practical than a pita, and are reshaping the bakery aisle.

"We first introduced Sandwich Thins in the East in August 2008, and they became popular overnight! People were so excited about Sandwich Thins, we immediately began receiving an influx of calls asking exactly where they were available," said Liza Leszczuk, Brand Manager. "We listened to our consumers and are eager to share Sandwich Thins with the Western U.S. now too."

Two varieties will be rolling out in the Western markets: 100% Whole Wheat and Multi-Grain. Both are only 100 calories and are an excellent source of fiber, with the 100% Whole Wheat offering 19 grams of whole grains per serving and the Multi-Grain contributing 11 grams per serving. In addition to the one-of-a-kind shape and texture, each variety of the Sandwich Thins contains no high fructose corn syrup. Sandwich Thins are a great-tasting choice for consumers looking to control their portions, yet still enjoy the foods they love.

In the East under the Arnold brand name, Whole Grain White and Seedless Rye varieties are also available, in addition to 100% Whole Wheat and Multi-Grain. For consumers who prefer traditional white bakery products, Arnold Whole Grain White Sandwich Thins have the color and taste people love, but are made with whole grains, offering 6 grams of whole grains per serving and are also an excellent source of fiber. The newest variety, Arnold Select Seedless Rye Sandwich Thins, offer the taste of classic rye bread with fewer calories, and 6 grams of whole grains.

Oroweat and Arnold Select Sandwich Thins are the first product of its kind, and are now rolling out nationally. They will be on shelves at all major grocery stores nationally starting in late July 2009.
